Brookside Outdoor Center is committed to environmental stewardship. As Christians, we believe that God created
the earth and all living creatures. In the first chapters of the Book of Genesis in the Bible, God gives custody of the
earth and all that is in it to man. That responsibility has never been rescinded. Knowing that we are fallible, we want
to do our best. It is an incredibly enormous task but we all believe in the difference that one person can make. So
here is a run down on some of our environmental initiatives.
Summer camp necessitates a certain amount of carbon-dioxide emissions (the culprit in global warming). We have
begun planting a grove of trees these past few summers to offset our emissions. We plan to continue building on this
initiative again this year.
We recycle!
We compost!
And not only that, but we take the time to teach our campers about recycling and composting and how easy it is!
